Vinerra Livestock is founded and run by Liam Simmons. Liam grew up in Otorohanga in the Waikato, and his passion for livestock and agriculture started early.
At seven he was spending weekends on his grandfather's farm at Tihiroa, near Pirongia. Payment for helping with the milking was $5 and a can of Sprite. By ten he could do the milking on his own, and he started being paid in calves instead. He reared them, they joined the herd, and slowly but surely he built up his own stock numbers.
While still at primary school he was milking cows, rearing calves and picking up lease blocks around the Otorohanga district, which to Liam was nothing out of the ordinary.
He went on to work on dairy farms locally, and by 24 he was leasing his own dairy farm in the Waikato.
Today Liam lives about 20 minutes from Te Awamutu. He has a genuine interest in people and a real passion for agriculture, and he brings both to every deal.
The name
Livestock and the land.
We want to help and grow alongside the farmers we work with. So much so that the Vinerra name and logo stand for livestock and the land.
We work with dairy livestock traders, commercial dairy farmers, stud dairy farmers, beef livestock traders, beef and bull finishers and service bull providers.
